This ritual can be done anytime during the first couple weeks of spring, but is especially potent during the week of the Spring Equinox which falls on March 20th this year (2019). It does require some pre-planning, although you could do this all "symbolically" with visualization.
Gather your materials around you so you can go right into the exercise after your meditation.
Sit quietly and allow your energy to settle into the magic of opening up your ritual. Call in your angels and guides to support you and be with you through this practice.
Set the intention for three words to come to you that you want to cultivate this season. What do you want to have bloom in your life?
Write those three words down.
Each succulent represents the words that you are welcoming into your life.
Before you transplant the succulents into your terra cotta pot, unleash your creativity and paint the pot in a way that embodies the words you chose. Whether that is going crazy with color or simply painting the words on the front, trust yourself and remember- it's not supposed to be perfect!
Prepare your terra cotta pot with the organic potting soil. As you put the soil in, think about how grateful you are for mother earth. Feel the love from your heart, travel through your hands and into the soil.
One by one, hold the succulent in your hands and think about the word you've assigned to that succulent. As you plant the succulent, think about what the word embodied and manifested into your life looks like.
As you continue to care for your succulents, you'll be caring for your dreams. Take time daily to ground in their energy and hope for what is ahead.
March tends to get a bad reputation. The temperature varies from 55 degrees to 25 degrees, the trees are bare, the ground is muddy. Everyone is just ready for summer when the sun is out, the flowers are colorful and everything is green.
But, there's something really beautiful about the moments before winter turns to spring.
The trees stand with their bones fully exposed. They hide nothing. The roots grow beneath the surface despite nothing to show for it quite yet.
Today the woods called to me. An unexpected ritual unfolded and I understood exactly why I was called there.
As I ventured deeper down the trail, my soul whispered for me to be still for a moment.
I stood and took in the view when I could feel the energy beginning to pulsate under my feet. The energy of gaia rising, so I welcomed her in. With each breath, I invited the energy up through my body, into each chakra and every cell. After, I felt immediately drawn to this incredibly tall tree. I embraced her. Hugging her, wrapping my arms as far as they could go. From my heart space, my energy began to cycle with the energy of the tree. I could feel myself truly re-calibrating with mother nature. I asked her to share any wisdom she had for me, thanked her, and continued on my hike.
As I looked around, it dawned on me how vulnerable nature is at this time yet it holds no shame about it's vulnerability. There's something beautiful about seeing the bones before the beauty. There's something empowering about seeing the foundation with admiration yet having no idea of the final outcome. The end of winter and beginning of Spring is when the strongest of the strong are on finally seen. The harshest of conditions and yet they're still standing.
We are this beautiful at this part of our journeys, our internal cycles as well. Let your vulnerable side be seen, it is your strongest side. Go for a spring hike to remind of you this. See your reflection in nature around you.
For this ritual, all you need is yourself and a hiking trail.
At the start of the hike, welcome in your angels and guides to join you.
Walk until you feel the spot where you are meant to pull up the energy of gaia.
When you find this spot, take in the scenery and begin deep breathing.
Visualize the roots growing up from gaia and into the bottoms of your feet.
As you continue breathing, bring the energy up into your entire body.
Stay in this place as long as you desire.
After, find a tree that you feel drawn to. Embrace it, offer your love through your heart center and ask that it share any wisdom it has to offer.
Stay in this place as long as you desire.
Continue your hike mindfully, keeping your phone away, and seeing what guidance or wisdom comes through as you end your time outside.
At the end of your hike, thank your angels, guides, and mother earth.
