This is something that has been on my heart for a while.
As I read Gabby Bernstein's The Judgement Detox, I am feeling called even more to speak my mind on this topic.
I understand that as I process my own thoughts and emotions, some of this may come off as hypocritical. I am trying SO hard to be mindful of my judgement of other people's judgement. I am learning how to talk about this in a compassionate way.
As I mentioned, this blog has been building, but this morning I saw something that REALLY set me off.
A HIGHLY acclaimed thought leader shared a post this morning in which he told people to hire COACHES not THERAPISTS. He implied that all a therapist will do is dig into your past while a coach is who plans for your future.
What a WILD assumption. (and as someone who has been in both roles, I can tell you that BOTH are extremely important. Therapy is important. Coaching is important.)
THIS IS SEPARATION.
Telling people to do THIS and not THAT. That YOUR way is better and the ONLY way. THIS IS JUDGEMENT.
Did I judge him for his judgment? Yup. I will own that and will absolutely do the work around it.
For now, come on guys.
We can do better.
Statements like, "are you so tired of hearing coaches blah blah blah" and "I'm not like them, I'm the real deal blah blah blah" aren't serving anyone.
AUTHENTICITY DOES NOT NEED TO POINT OUT IT'S UNIQUENESS. AUTHENTICITY SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.
Ego wants you to point out how special you are, how much better or worse you are. Love wants you to recognize your own divine gift to offer the world and be just as excited for everyone else's gifts.
You won't need the gifts of everyone AND you have no place in telling other's whose gifts they will or will not need.
Okay, loves. That is all for now. My throat chakra is feeling MUCH clearer after getting this out. Sending you all love and light on our journey to one-ness.
